What began in early 1991 as
"In-Home Respite Care Service", was incorporated as ShareCare in
November of the same year. In May of 1996, ShareCare
became part of a larger network of Interfaith Volunteer
Caregivers. Founded on the ideal of community volunteerism
of neighbors helping neighbors, this network, "Faith In Action"
was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Our services have expanded
from respite care to providing a wide variety of services to
meet the needs of elderly and/or disabled people who live at
home.
Governed by a board of
directors, ShareCare is a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit
